Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in retail operations? At Pick n Pay, we are seeking a dedicated Receiving Co-ordinator to oversee our store’s receiving operations. This is a permanent position with a focus on ensuring proper control of stock inflow and outflow through distribution centers (DC) and direct deliveries. Key Responsibilities:

Supervision of Receiving Operations:

As the Receiving Co-ordinator, your primary responsibility is to supervise and oversee the receiving operations across all store formats. You will ensure the proper control of stock as it flows into and out of the stores through DC and direct deliveries.

Liaison with Stakeholders:

You will serve as a liaison between the stores and various stakeholders, including DC, DSD, and vendors. This involves managing critical aspects such as delivery plans, SDA changes, returns control, claims management, and ensuring security and housekeeping in-store receiving areas.

Store Activities Management:

You will manage activities in the stores, addressing queries related to processes, vendor collection and returns, and the implementation of new processes or enhancements to existing receiving processes.

Manpower Management:

Effective manpower management, in collaboration with divisional support structures, is a key part of your role. This includes regular meetings, training sessions, and workshops with store-receiving teams to enhance their capabilities.

Non-Conformance Escalation:

In cases of non-conformance, you will escalate issues to divisional management or the Business Process Owner for resolution.

Minimum Requirements:

A matric qualification. Working knowledge of store receiving area and support of business processes will be beneficial.


Effective Communication: Your communication skills will enable you to effectively liaise with various stakeholders and convey information clearly. Methodical Work Ethic: A structured and methodical approach to your work will help in overseeing receiving operations smoothly. Planning and Organization: You will plan, organize, and follow up on activities and plans to ensure efficient operations.

Attention to Detail: The ability to pay close attention to detail is crucial in maintaining stock control. Adaptability: You should be adaptive to changing business environments and willing to embrace new processes. Adherence to Standards: Maintaining high standards and adherence to company policies is a key competency. Customer Orientation: Recognizing that efficient stock management directly benefits sales and customer satisfaction is essential.
